A six- or twelve-month residential discipleship journey for young adults who want to know Jesus deeply, build strong spiritual foundations and be equipped to serve Him faithfully.

ROOTED exists to help believers grow into mature, wholehearted followers of Jesus.
Therefore, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him and firm in your faith just as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. – Colossians 2:6–7
In a fast-paced world that often prioritises knowledge over relationship, ROOTED calls students back to intimacy with Jesus, obedience to His voice, love for Scripture, and faith expressed through service.
This journey is designed to shape not only what you believe, but who you are becoming.

THE ROOTED JOURNEY
WHAT IT IS
ROOTED is a season intentionally set apart to pursue Jesus, become more like Him, and learn to follow Him in everyday life within the life of City on a Hill Church in Benoni, South Africa.
More than a course or standalone program, ROOTED is a discipleship journey lived in the context of spiritual family. Students learn not only in the classroom, but through shared life, worship, prayer, serving, ministry, and everyday obedience alongside the church community.
HOW IT WORKS
Students walk closely with leaders and mentors while engaging in:
- Daily rhythms of prayer and Scripture
- Teaching that forms both heart and mind
- Practical service and ministry opportunities
- Community life within City on a Hill Church that encourages accountability, belonging, and growth.
WHAT MAKES ROOTED DIFFERENT
Rather than focusing only on knowledge, ROOTED emphasises spiritual formation: learning to live attentively to the Holy Spirit and obedient to Jesus in everyday life.
